Funny ...

I always thought that FPS was for "FramesPerSecond"

Actually it is "ForePlayS" :dunno:

It is a strange world....

I think that DaveB lives by the same rule ;-)

I do my self too (more or less), although I must admit, that I tweak up to a certain level, and then leave it be... reducing it to an update of a driver every once in a while.

I spend most of my time now a days trying out and using the FSX SDK and the new tools in their making, mostly around Airports and AI-traffic.

Ah well now, I'm a software tester by profession so I'm always thinking "ok, so it works, but what happens if I do this?" because i'm taught to question the definition of 'it works'.

And usually I am disciplined enough to take snapshots/backups etc and I was taught to be cautious and use 'sandbox' environments and configuration controls, but lately life has been busy and my flying time is restricted to 11pm onwards when i just want to fly and so the discipline goes out the window.

So things are settled now and they work good enough for me. I've accepted that some a/c and some airports will never work well and thats fine. I just dont fly them or there. But a word of caution: next month I'm buying the new processor. And then i'll be a tweakin' and a-tunin' again

:cpu: :dunno:  :crying:

Sound like me ;-)

I'm a Software developer/Configuration Manager by trade, so fiddling with all kinds of settings intrigues me as well, but I do also know when to stop...

Not seldom do you "overtweak" and thus ruin your whole setup, so you have to start all over.... I did that too earlier, but have now come to the point where I know to stop ...

Aaarrgghhh, just my bloody luck. I finally get the machine configured, setup and tweaked just right, a nice 30fps on the dornier do-27 with the VFR Photographic scenery from justflight. I'm about to settle down for a nice relaxing flight when my wife plugs in the hoover upstairs and ...

!!!POP!!! goes the powersupply .... my cheap, cruddy, 40euro powersupply. Why oh why oh why didn't i spend just that bit more to get a decent powersupply .. aargghhh.

So I am off to buy a new powersupply tomorrow, but I just hope the rest of the computer is not fried. Any way of finding out before I bother with a new PSU?

Not really...but the rest should be OK. Probably just a fuse gone inside.

If you're feeling brave, try it again. I've heard they can reset themselves! On second thoughts, probably best just to get a good new one...
