If anyone has detailed performance specs for the aircraft & engines, I might gander a try at fixing up the Sperrin. The best thing would be to work with one of the maginifcent panel designers here as well to create a gauge similar to the Trident Boost Engine gauge that would allow us to limit the 2 Avon engines to the proper thrust rating while still displaying the correct performance numbers in the cockpit.

CT, I'll try to send over the performance info from the Barrie Hygate book this evening. They should give you a chunk of what is needed.

Thanks Andy.

Also, detailed areas (wing, ailerons, flaps, rudder, elevator, vertical & horizontal stabs) are important as well if we have them as it'll make things much easier since I won't have to guess.

Just took a quick look, and it looks like I've got most of the information needed. I believe I know of a source for info on the Avons and Gyron that I need that isn't included in this document.

Page 2 didn't scan properly though. The first 1/3 of the page is fine, but from there down it's pink. If you could re-scan that page, it should fill in the missing information there.

I should be able to complete a base flightmodel for testing this weekend. If anyone's interested in helping with testing of the flight model, let me know because my computer sometimes shows performance totally different than others. It's funny too because usually the planes don't seem to perform correctly on my system, but fly fine on others, so we'll see what happens.

All looks fine to me Chris. I'll resend the file, let me know if it is still a problem.

Got it the second time without problems. It does fill in 99% of the missing info.

It's going to be an interesting airplane to work on, lots of interesting facts. If anyone is good with gauge design and would like to help with some modifications, please let me know. I know that there are 2 systems that would be fairly straightforward to model that would make the plane more realistic (flaps & spoilers) without making it overly complex.

Okay, I've got a rough model put together. If anyone wants to look at it and give me feedback, please send me a PM with what e-mail you want the CFG and AIR files to be sent to. I need to make a trip to the city library here on Sunday or Monday to get the detailed performance info on the Avon and Gyron engines I need out of Jane's, so the engine performance is lacking a bit right now, but it's "normalized" to the correct total thrust from 2 Gyrons and 2 Avons (52000 lbs).

If you could fire a set over in my direction Chris, it would be appreciated.

Well, I finally got time to go to the library today and unfortunately it's going to take more time. If anyone knows of any sources other that Jane's that has information on the Gyron, please let me know. The information they have is basic as can be and does not include any of the speeds or temperatures that I need. I will check the FAA's database, but I doubt the engine ever went far enough to get a CAA or FAA airworthiness certificate and subsequent data sheet. The Avon I've had better luck with, but the Gyron is what's holding me up.
