this is a rare view of the launch from the SRB view looking down
about 30 seconds before launch and then the trip all the way back down to splash!

DaveB is not far away from 10K posts.

I happened to be in Florida on vacation when a Shuttle launched. Unfortunately I was staying on the other side (Fort Myers), it was a 6am launch, and it was not definite. So I slept in - and it went on time :sad:

the shuttle has run into a bit of a snag (as it were)
the thermal Blanket had been torn during lift off
