Petition signed.

As an ex serviceman with nigh on 30 years under my belt and now a war pensioner I know only too well how badly British Governments of both parties ex servicemen.

Spare a thought for our guys in Iraq or Afghanistan. Being permanently injured is the easy bit - try getting a war pension to help out in reduced circumstances - the bureaucratic battlefield takes no prisoners.

Must go, blood pressure getting too high.

So we're able to keep out foreign VC winners, but are unable to kick out those that came here aboard a hijacked plane?

Nevermind the criminals, they have human rights. :curse:

Under the letter of the law Ghurkas are mercenaries and have no rights..men of the kingdom of Nepal chose to serve under Queen's regulations and see it as a great honour..they have served this country through many conflicts, they have obeyed British orders and got nothing in return.

I've had the honour to serve alongside Ghurkas..to a man they are honourable, noble and brave..and it's time they and their families received what's owing to them.

Signed...His commendation for the Victoria Cross is a very stirring piece of text to read...John Wayne couldn't have done it better in a Hollywood war film. I do hope something is done for this Hero.

Signed and sealed!!

No words can describe how I feel regarding the treatment of this hero by our Government.

These Ghurkas were loyal to our country then as they are now, they were fearless and brave fighters who gave their lives whilst serving our country.

This Government should hang their heads in shame!!
I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.

They've changed how these petitions work. You no longer have to be resident in the UK so long as you are a British citizen. Select expatriate below the address section.

If the British Government continue like this I may even become an ex-patriot, not just an expatriate.

Petition signed.

I heard on R2 yesterday that they had changed their minds and he will be allowed into the UK after all.

But will the prat who made the original decision get fired?

I suspect not, he'll be in the New Years Honours List and be taking home an index linked pension that's about four times as much as my current pay packet I bet!

Signed.

This treatment of a true and valiant servant of this country should be the remembered legacy of the bar steward of the interminably lengthy departure.
