I notice the RN Black Cats have got themselves a new livery and a new airframe. Past they've had a Mk.3 and a Mk.8, both are Mk.8s judging from that photo!

Some cracking shots there, nice one! You planning on being there for Lying Fagends (7/8 July)?

Mig, as I understand it the Black Cats take whichever two aircraft 702 can spare at the time, the routine can be flown in either mark (as the main difference between the two in handling terms is top speed it's not a big problem). At the moment only 671 has the pretty colours on, but I understand a second airframe is due to be painted up, I think the plan is to have at least one at a display, something about spreading fatigue around the fleet!

Oh yeah nice photos, it's people like you who stop me bothering taking cameras to airshows!

Hi Guys

Ah thats where it came from

8.45 AM this morning that Chinook went over my house at 100 ft AGL on it's side and frightened the **** out of the wife who was in the garden
trying to work out what the booming noise was down in the small valley towards Woodbridge suffolk where we live.

getting louder and louder until it appeared at such an angle i really did think it was crashing :dunno:

Scared me Whitless too as it was on a direct course to hit both of us.

the top shot is about the same angle it appeared over the trees at the bottom of my garden but at 100 ft AGL or possibly less with power cables either side of it.

Gone right of Wokka's now :worried:

Pretty sure it was the same one as Feroucious Frankie came over at 9:12 AM and made a noise i could listen to indefinately. (accompanied by what sounded like another merlin engined aircraft but out of Eyeshot as i have tall trees on 3 sides but could see Frankie.

Regards
Rick
