Help

Post by PeteH »

An odd thing happened when booting up the PC today.

The boot up goes OK until Windows begins to load. Then a strange "grid" composed of small blue squares and symbols appears. Windows loads but the icons on the desktop and the mouse curser have small lines and dots around them although the grid disappears. Icons on various programs also appear distorted.

I thought it might be the video card but the graphics appear OK.

Any thoughts please as it's driving me mad.

Pete

Edit. Just checked FS9 and the whole picture is full of coloured pixilation.
Doesn't look promising

Thanks Ben,

I rather thought it was going to be something expensive. :curse:

Any thoughts on a not too expensive video card?

Second that, Gigabyte do a neat one that doesn't need a cooling fan (the heatsink is pretty f***in' big though) which has cut my PC noise down by a few decibels.
