Why was it called that, then? That'd make an interesting product name, that's for sure ;)

If you like the -46, you might like this heads up.. a CH-47D\ HC.2 is also in build.

What version were you looking for? The CH-46/V-107 was never flown by anyone in the UK. They only operated for the Canadians, Japanese, US, Swedes, Saudis, and Thai. The V-107 flies/flew only for 3 US-based companies, Columbia Helicopters, PanAm, and New York Airways.'

The CH-47/V-234 saw UK service however, so it'll be nice when those come out, especially for CBFS VA....

I think Trev might have mistaken it for the Chinook, l think Dano has one of them in build right now.

The Sea Knight is operated by other nations as Chris says, but not this version, most overseas nations opted for the model with the balloon sponsons which we didn't model so with this airframe we were limited to the US variants, which actually number 500+ out of the total 600 built, aka the majority.

There are two basic US variants, we opted for one that is predominately used by the USN, the Marines version has some extras and different engine exhausts but l'm sure there will be a fist full of repaints of Marines ( even if there the wrong model )....see we learnt from the S-55 paint jobs

I don't think Trev was hoping for some UK version borne out of any confusion.......just stating that there are only US available instead of some other country to give a little variety.

My instant thought was pity there was not a Swedish...the Airfix kit memories again

As someone who is thought of as a bit of a 'helophile', I most certainly was NOT looking for a UK variant! No, Canadian, Japanese or Swedish yes, but I am aware that this beast had a huge amount of 'customer spec options' on the export models. I just prefer the colour schemes variations on the overseas stuff, thats all!
An Alphasim 'Wokka' is a nice thing to look forward too, but a Bristol Belvedere would have been 1000 times better........not perhaps from the sales point of view though
