Beverley... a big old bird

Post by John »

One of those models I've always liked but doesn't get much of an outing

Didn't someone do a camo version?

Kind regards

Oh my, what memories that brings back!

As a cadet, and living at Abingdon and Benson, I cadged more flight hours on 47 Sqdn's Beverleys than I had a right to. I'm convinced my later deafness goes back to those four Centaurii.

From the FS point of view I wish effort had gone into a rear-door less version rather than the 'globe' cargo, but WTH, it was and is, free anyway, so I'm not complaining THAT much.

Kit

I discovered tonight that the cammo version has a patch that gets rid of the dreaded globe

I did the Camo paint and the globe fix can be used on all models, just replace earth.bmp with the one copied from the cam version.

Oh great, that's excellent news, thanks.

Even if I can't drop Landies out the back over the Brecons.

I have the original FSDS 2 source files but neither the tools or knowledge in modeling to do anything with them, maybe someone who does have the tools and ability would remove said doors and remove the globe from the model.

NOW you're talking, sounds terrific.

Would it be possible to make the hold visible from the inside? Then we could all pretend to be loadmasters and throw the drogue chute out the back before the Landies rolled out.
