New Lockheed Hudson on the way

No probs..I have Civil reg info here for any British Aircraft right back to 1919........I know, some of us should get out more......

Brian - I know this may sound off thread - but sometimes this place gives me the thought of Farenheit 451 with people walking around muttering aircraft history and registrations and records - we really are a sad bunch NOT

BTW not to beat it to death -- But I did a little wandering through the USAF archives at Wright Pat - it turned up a couple of things

as I thought the turret was provided by CCF

heres what it looked like BEFORE they put the power turret in it

You can clearly see the panel built to cover the turret opening it appears it
wasnt as makeshift as people would have us believe -and the USAAC
A28 versions actually had a totally different set up

Maybe the Canadians didnt want to spare the turrets -

The other thing I was not aware of was that it was the first aircraft Kelly Johnson worked on design wise

I really don't know what it is about the Hudson. Perhaps it's the Airfix kit though I must have had the interest even then otherwise I'd not have bought it :think: I do prefer it without the turret, much like the Anson. It always looked like it never really belonged there

I get the feeling that even if the model turns out to be below our expectations, those that really want it will be forgiving... that's not to say you can send out any old tat Alphasim if you're looking in!!

I have a soft spot for the Hudson as well

It is down to the Airfix kit which my dad made for me....while I watched

Mmm, while I love the old Airfix Hudson kit, it did have one glaring error that the Alphasim guys may be repeating. The Hudson had a one-piece elevator on the tailplane. The two elevators came with later designs. Photographic evidence bears this out.

A great choice of aircraft though. :dance:
