a little Vulcan help
Would anybody on here be willing to take a look at Paul Foster's Vulcan? It might be just me, but upon getting airborne it goes beserk and is impossible to fly. The version I downloaded claimed it had an updated air file, and Paul himself has told me he is aware of the issue, but I am still having trouble.
Perhaps someone on here has already tackled it, if so, or you'd be willing to check it out, that would be lovely, as I'd like to work on some repaints for her and need the old girl to be flyable.
Cheers all,
Steve

Steve,
Sounds rather like the Just Flight one.......
What sort of berserkness does it exhibit? The JF version gets more and more nose down the faster you go at low level and eventually runs out of elevator and trim authority, but apparently that's just like real the Vulcan. The solution os NOT to go fast at low level according to the guys at JF.

Well I am not having the JF problems then, rather it seems the air brakes start deploying in an insane manner making it impossible to fly and the whole plane shudders all over the place. Anyone else experienced this?
I know Graham C. is working on a solution at the moment but anyone else feel free to have a shot at this little problem.
Cheers,
Steve

I've been tweaking the cfg myself and got it working to a satisfactory standard...for some reason it seems to have broken the open bomb-bay animation which is a shame. Anyway, here's a situation NOT to get your Vulcan into...prepare for bale-out, chaps!
Repaints on their way later this month.

I think the JF Vulcan is the old PSS model which had a Concorde Airfile on it, if I am not mistaken it was the old Fs 2k Concorde which was unflyable anyway.
If you have a Airfile editor open the Jf airfile and about 3/4 the way down you might find a entry "Just another name" (it is certainly in the PSS incarnation and if this has been taken over from them it is probably there too) click on it and it will reveal Concorde, they changed the description at the start of the airfile but missed that bit.
The Fs 2k Concorde required much fuel juggling to maintain trim, as for speed I think that Vulcan model was also mach 2 capable.

Thanks Rich, but I'm not really working with the JF Vulcan - I'm experimenting with Paul Foster's model which I believe is an original build and uses its own air and cfg files. Don't quote me on the latter two though
I've got it going pretty well at the moment - but meant to ask you, what does PSS stand for?
Cheers,
Steve

Phoenix Simulation Software as in the same Phoenix Design as Paul Foster's work? If so, do I ever feel stupid!
This is why I typically stay out of the Developer's Corner
Cheers Garry.
