just wondering!!
is it FRapS that people use to make those cool flight sim videos?,
if not what is it, and how can i get my grubby little mits on it?

Well it's what I've used
You'll find it here.

The freeware version leaves a tiny web address at the top of the screen, but it bearable.

got fraps working, but only in 30 second bursts!!!!

Ah I forgot to mention that. Sadly that's the freeware version... pay shiney silver coins and you get longer time lengths
Seriously though 30 seconds is a long time in a short film, use it as a cut point.
