HELP!!!!

i just switched on the computer yesturday and when i had logged in the desktop ;oaded and then all of a sudden it disappeared and My Documents came up. Do you know what could cause this and how to fix it.

Please if you have any ideas tell me. I would like it working for saturday.

P.S before this happened i installed some new scenery and Video Codec. THe culprit may be Video codec.

Can you boot up in safe mode and undo that change?

Did you turn the computer off with MyDocs open? if you did theres a good chance thats why it appeared.

Posibly its on your startup list, but thats harder to do by accident!

ive been trying a few things and think ive got it. Video codec came with a search thingy that opens onto the taskbar every time a start the computer. This computer has 4 users and only that user has the search box load and only that user has a problem. The only problem is that nothing seems to say it exists. Even autoruns which was built to recognize everything.

Im ok on another username for now but if it helps do you need any specific information.
