What's going on with the Wessex?
Same 16nm journey, but a lot of them are logging over 11 hours in flight time.
Are these the ones where FlyNet has refused to bing-bong at the end?

Hi Dave,
Not sure. It looks like the client isn't recognising the departure time. Of those that have the incorrect logged time, all (I think) show departure time of 00:00 hrs. I have sent my last log to Konny over MSN so he is aware of the problem. Maybe the client is confused when we lift off without taxiing. The client does seem to take a while to register the flight after the parking brake has been applied, but i've not had a flight fail to record yet. One flight still showed taxi even after landing so i had to lift off, hover and land again before it registered.

I 'spoke' with Konny again re this problem and the take-off, skipping the taxi seems to be the culprit that is causing incorrect times to be logged. The trigger for departure/first movement is when gs reached 5kts. Trigger for arrival/last movement is application of parking brake. If we get airborne directly then the client is getting confused so logs the time 00:00 which then gives the miscalculation of the block time. I've suggested departure/first movement trigger be re-assigned to parking brake release. Konny will convey this info to DK who has the source code, so hopefully may get changed when client next gets updated. I think we've done sufficient testing for the time being and we have to wait for the AFCADs from ODG before we can start platform ops anyway so the Wessex's (or is that Wessii
) can stay parked up for a while longer.

Hope not to offend by posting a reply here, reguarding helo's.
when i ran erickson skycranes on flynet i to had the over hours effect. a flight that should take 1.25hrs turned in to a 26hr flight.
then my second flight would not register a landing and i had to close down the computer link. after that i removed the helo fleet from flynet. i hope that by now things have got fixed for you chaps to use the helo's.
a far cry from the f100's that i flew for you a while back.

As far as I'm aware, the issue is now known about by Konny and his tame programmer so it's just a matter of time before they get it sorted.. or not
As John said above.. if you fly with a takeoff roll, the flight gets registered correctly (even though you wait a year for the bing-bong at the other end). The problem comes when you lift straight off as both of us have watched the client trying to work out what the hell is going on during takeoff
While ops to land bases aren't a problem.. as long as you remember the takeoff roll, it does curtail our ops to the North Sea which is why we bought the darned things in the first place. Ever tried getting a 5kt run on a rig platform :shock:

yes i've seen lots of lovely repaint's of the DC3, not half bad. also today i was looking at flynet and i see things have moved along a bit. i have gone from the books as i've not been around for a long time ( psa ).
also been looking at your flight plans, ie comet now goes to australia. and the wessex covering the north sea. very tempting. :think: just reloaded the comet 4b and running on one of the australian routes for fun.
due to computer virus many months ago lost all addresses and msmessenger. reason for not keeping in touch. sorry for that.
