Ive been following Bomber12's progress over at SOH - Hes spot on the TA acft are the 609th and look exactly like the photographs I have - seems a mea culpa is in order - the whole thread over there follows the development and hes done his homework - Im hoping to get some photos of "California Cruiser" (Ship 666)- with all its kills on the nose and see if one of the painters over there can do the honors.

I finally found a copy of a Squadron photo onlines - one Ive seen many times - John Shippey (Col USAF) is the short gent dead center look very serious - He said he was hung over as hell on the beer they served at the NKP O Club.

Fully agree an absolute beauty. Up early to fly it now. Managed to fly the longsman from Malta via Italy, Switzerland and France to Biggin yesterday. It took 5 hours and landed with 10 gallons per side remaining.
