John, you're not on WIX are you? I just saw someone put that up on that site about going to visit Gary Austin who's rebuilding the CAF's LB-30 back into the B-24A it was originally built as.

Classic British Content of this post - AM927 was built as a B-24A for the Royal Air Force and initially used as a trainer for RAF crews in New Mexico before being heavily damaged in a crash. It was rebuilt and converted into what became the de-facto prototype for the LB-30 transport version of the B-24. The aircraft then was used as a high-priority transport for B-24 parts from the Consolidated factory in San Diego to it's Tulsa Factory until the end of the war. It was also used as a testbed for several modifications and other programs during its life. The aircraft as repainted will be in a scheme that is similar to British Bomber Command colors except the black only goes up a little bit of the side, and not all the way up the side and it will have American markings on it as it did prior to delivery to the RAF.

No, I was trying to tie this into "Classic British" since the question that I asked was about a thread in another forum on an aircraft that was owned by the RAF originally.

I read them (it was the "put that up" that was the clue), but I'm still impressed with how you managed to fill in all the other data which is completely irrelevant for the thread....

Not that we are always supposed to stay on the subject...but still, that long explanation of what WIX is and all that, seemed at bit far-fetched...

First -

The question was for John. Not you, not anyone else. I added the other stuff because the thread that I was referencing of was about the B-24A/LB-30 known as AM927. I did nothing to explain WIX in it. I also stated why I was putting the information into the post since in the process of watching Gary and others rebuild/restore this aircraft the issue of how Google handles going from England to the US was posted. Not only that, but it was posted within hours of John's posting, making me wonder if there was a connection, thus the question.

Funny thing is Garry, had I only posted the question, I would have gotten several posts asking me why I asked the question and what its relevance is to the thread, so I'm on the "wrong end" either way I guess.
