Yes those class A marks were just for the show....there was some Strikemasters as well and I recall G-AWON & 'WOO on Saudi Lightnings one year....probably the show beofre this one.

Anyway those two both before and after the show wore the class B registrations.

Unfortunately my register only gives the immediate before so I could track the Military serials :sad: .....thanks for that.

but if T.4s can really be rigged for bombing (as I've read) how would the nav visually aim when the nose is solid? Just release and hope?

It was done with radio signals,and position 'fixes',and map+stopwatch.

(Even in WW2 the Germans were using radio bombing,as was RAF bomber command, look here --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oboe_(navigation)

Thanks for that, Pete, I never really understood how Oboe worked but that made it a lot clearer. In some ways this sounds similar to the Eureka transponder and Rebecca aerials carried on planes like the Canberra although I'm not sure if they were used for pathfinding/bombing like Oboe/GEE-H. Can anyone clarify this, and if so, would this have been used by T.4s in place of the visual sight?

Yes I know, I've gone into 'full production' now - easy to do once you get the template sorted out. Of cousre that means plenty of day-glo too

You can never have enough HD space either in my humble opinion.
