Y'all remember back in the days of yore when 50 seemed so ancient - and
you thought you'd never be as old as those codgers....well gents we are here - and I dont feel a bit Codgerish
Leif (Born the year Sir Edmund Hilary and Sherpa Teinzing conquered Everest - or has modern revisionist history now said that was all a lie?)

All the reliving I did was mentally.. not for real (no longer have the desire or am capable)
I gotta say that all-in-all.. it's been a good week to be 50. Monday up at Manchester for the opening of ZK and 2 days in my old stomping ground. I'd not been back there since leaving the Navy in '89 and much has changed. HMS Vernon has gone (it was the Pompey base for Minehunters) and is now a very swish shopping mall.. HMS Dolphin.. once the HQ of CaptSM and SM1 is still there (as a building or set of buildings) but is no longer HMS Dolphin.. did a trip round the harbour this very morning (I'll post some shots if you like) and few of the ships alongside were even commissioned when I left  Nice to go back there though and for the first time since I left the RN, I actually missed it :crying:
Wonder if it will be another 18years before I go back again??
