The only aircraft of theirs I have ever flown on was the HS.748

Wasn't historic then but is now

Methinks I have som catching up to do

Hi all!

We have a few special things lined up for this years event. In addition to the Shackleton engine runs we always do, we'll be running up one of the DC-6's too. The vampire will be stretching it's legs and we have a celebrity pilot in the shape of Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden fame flying the Twin Pioneer.

Unfortunately the Dove is U/S (again!) due to a corrosion problem on the main spar. The people drawing up the repair scheme can't do it until mid April which is frustrating to say the least!

Weather is looking good so it should be a good day!

Tom.

As I mentioned on another thred,I had a brilliant day at Cov,which included a Dak flight (G-AMPY),watching and listening to the music of the Skackleton and DC6 engine run ups, seeing the Vampire fly and also meeting and chatting to Ben Watson and Tom Everett. What's more it was all in perfect weather. In the words of the old song-Magic Moments. Really disappointed to have missed the Air Atlantic open day, is it a once a year event or will there be another opportunity?

For those amongst us who did manage to attend I echo Paul, do you have any photos of the proceedings you could share?
