Yak 42 due out very soon

those talented comrades at SAMDIM have announced their long awaited Yak 42 is due out any day! Can't wait.

there's something about that plane...it just has a good look to it. I'm sure Dimitri has programmed some goodies into the model too.

That site's a new one on me. Plenty of freeware Russian stuff, including a Tu-114 which might provide even better sounds for my Bear than those I have already. Thanks Vegas!

Hi Paul,

No problems matey. SAMDIM are up there with the likes of Project Tupolev for super high quality Soviet freeware. Their Tu-114 package is one of the finest pieces ever.

I agree, its terrific, especially the night time 2D panel. I've aliased the sounds to my Tu95, too. I think I'm going to have to grab more of their stuff!

i love the 124...such a good looking aircraft, 'interesting'to fly and certainly not too hard.

Project Tupolev is still master, but if you ain't go the time...

By the way, does anyone know why so many Soviet civil aircraft had glazed noses ? :think:

I know Aeroflot had a military transport function in the event of a major war, which included dropping paratroopers and pallets, so I can only assume it was to allow an observer to judge the dropping point accurately.

But a Tu-144 dropping paras ? :shock:
