Right, this is what you do to the little bar steward.

Go to the bottom of the item

Select : Report this

Option 1 : Counterfeit & Breach of copyright

Option 2 : Bootleg & Counterfeit Media

Option 3 : Media on recordable Format

You can include all his other items, 8 in all in one complaint.

260100130809, 260100130823, 260100130841, 260100130856, 260100133255, 260100133264, 260100133270, 260100133280

When ebay get enough complaints they will suspend his account while they investigate, which can be tough if it is a rogue complainer. If you save him in your favourite sellers, you can check once in a while to see if he is active and hit ebay wtih a string of complaints again. If he changes his seller id it will still show up in your system. Some little sh*t tried to con my wife with some couterfeit gear, she has harried him off ebay through several changes of id since! :poke:

I've reported that same seller (3venom) for copyright infringement on my stuff four or five times so far.
Last two I posted more detailled messages to ebay explaining what the problem is & asking that the seller be removed.
I get a serious sounding reply from someone at ebay, the item is removed, but yet the criminal mastermind is still at it.
ebay are about as tough as a 2CV driving probation officer. :goodman:

i got told by ebay to stop sending complaints because i didn't own the copyright. that seller has had a mass of complaints as he moves freeware to freeware and payware topayware. he was selling the space shuttle challenge, that was soon removed when i contacted the actual author - ebay didn't do anything when i reported the item, even quoting links to the file online!

David maltby : there is a (probably) more effective remedy than e bay complaints : try your Trading Standards department - software piracy is something they are quite keen on as I understand it, and they have far more teeth than we do unless we resort to legal action which is expensive and time consuming

Freeware is so misunderstood

The fact that it has been supplied without charge does not mean the user can use it unrestricted.

The copyright remains with the author and if they state that it can not be sold or changed in any form then that's it.

Some even have restrictions on repaints and that should also be adhered to.

About time this was realised..freeware means free to use, not free use of the file to do whatever is wished by the user especially when it is clearly stated not to do so unless permission is given.

The bottom like is simple.........read the conditions of the author and stay within that.
