Ah yes.. the Tay Viscount.. another one on Rick's list :worried:

A perfect compliment for the Nene Viking.. :worried:

OK.. to qualify that a little, they're actually on my list for Rick and have been for years. I got fed up of being told to *eck off :huf:

I do know of one planned and awaiting details and accurate three views

It has virtually nothing in common with the later Viscounts

Even now the project is still secret

So just between me & you Garry, did a Jet Viscount actually get in the air then? What was the idea, a testbed?

It was obvious that the Viscount could never be sold as it was do the design was scaled up into the V.700

The incomplete and now unneeded second prototype was finished as a testbed with Tays and the third was abandoned with some parts going to the V.700 prototype.

The link I gave above has a history of the aircraft as well as a gallery.
