One question for you lovely UKMil persons, relating to model options. The one loadout I haven't seen in any of your previews is one with Matra/SNEB rocket pods, is this one you have included?

Some of the pics that Motormouse listed were the ones I have, plus some others I've not seen yet (goody... )
I'm not too sure about red fin codes, the only ones I've noticed of the period looked straw like in colour. Re the bagging procedure, all the GR3s flew down to Ascension, some with a land based refuelling stop and some non-stop with Victor tankers. Then they hopped over to the AC and were bagged before the ship sailed south, leaving one, maybe two, a/c behind for point defence of the airfield. (I wonder why not a Phantom or two???)
Most of the SHARs were bagged too, except for the QRA a/c and a reserve. The QRA a/c usually sat on the pad, facing to starboard and fully armed, while the reserve was parked to port just astern of the forward portside 20 ft container.
If I could get to my archive files I'd post some of the pics I've found, but my laptop died this morning and it's got them all on it's HD. :sad:

These may be of interest, got the laptop sorted after a 2hr phone call!
This is the Sidewinder trials a/c at Aberporth. Sadly the serial no. is invisble and the a/c's identity isn't noted anywhere that I can find. I can't see any fin codes on this pic, but there is some sign of overpaint or similar on the fin flash.
Not quite sure if this one is landing on or taking off. I assume it's taking off because there's no sign of land forward of the spray bulkhead, which would put the date as May 18th. It's not really sharp enough to see if the fin codes are there or not.
Of course you could try emailing ACM Sir Peter Squire (retd) as he was the Boss of 1 Sqdn. at the time......
