PC rebuild

Post by RAF_Quantum »

Hi,

Well, it's time to bite the bullet and rebuild my PC. Switching off soon to take guts out of this PC and put into new cheap case so I can build new PC into this existing Lian_Li case. Hopefully if all goes well, I'll be back up and running quicktime so I can take my time building up the new one. If I'm not around for a while then it may be because I screwed something up and can't get online. Fingers crossed :worried:

We have complete confidence in your ability to complete this upgrade.

Hi,

Got my old PC bits installed into new case and all appears to be OK. Trying to get the ATI drivers to instal on the new build has been a pain in the the proverbial as it kept asking for basic VGA drivers and it couldn't find drivers on the xp disc, mobo disc or GC disc. In the end I've had to get the new 7.1 catalyst off 'tinternet to get it running. All appears to be ok, now all I have to do is get all my settings and files transferred over to new PC.

Hi,

New monitor should be arriving tomorrow, so once it does I'll be hooking everything up and should be able to get back to normal with all the wires/cables etc back in their usual places. Not even hooked up my speakers yet, just been doing a bit of browsing and deciding what to do re my FS9 instal. I'd originally intended copying everything across from my old PC but have decided against it and will install just the stuff I use/need. At the moment I've got my current 'main' monitor hooked up to the new pc and the secondary monitor hooked up to the old one. I keep trying to drag windows across from one monitor to the other  , it's surprising how much you miss a dual monitor set-up once you've been used to one.
