Apart from the early G-AMSW 'C.A.S' all the fonts are traced from photos using Paint Shop Pro. I set an enlarged cropped picture of the lettering as a background and then traced another layer over the top. I have to allow for curvature of the fuselage and the sometimes oblique camera angle to get it to look right. Once I'm happy with it I hide the background and then paste it as a new layer into my working file of the repaint and then resize and position accordingly. Likewise with the dragon logo's. I've had to do this with almost all my repaints.
Thanks for the comments guys. I've got a few more DC3 paints on the 'to do' list Dave, so your guilt will be with you a while longer . Thanks to Garry for pointing out my little faux pas with the colour of the registrations on the fin tips. They will be the correct colour, red, when released.

Astounding work there John, tracing those fonts must have been a bit tricky at times - very nicely done. Just think if you had done it in Illustrator (or similar vector programme) you could have packaged them as a new font family. But that's much more work obviously.
