[rant] CS 757| Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?

Post by gevers1 »

RE: Captain Sim 757

Ok, so finally managed to get this thing working at 25fps, got the wife and kids out of the house for the afternoon and got myself settled behind the controls ready to try out this frame-busting aircraft. So there I was looking at a cold and dark cockpit, so time to turn to the operations manual. How do I get this thing started. Manuals .. manuals ... where are the manuals ...

Oh FFS - would you believe it: the manual that tells you how to start the f#*$ng thing comes with Block C, and of course, I bought block B. All I've got is a manual that tells me what the dials and buzzers and knobs do, but not how to operate them in a coordinated attempt so as to actually do anything. Want to know how to start the engines? Nae chance! Want to know how to operate the FMC? I dont think so! And even if it did tell you, it's no use as the FMC is in 'demo' mode. Guess what - you need to buy Block Z or whatever the f*#k block to get that to work.

Needless to say, I am incandecent with rage. How in the hell can anyone release a product this complicated and not include the operations manual?!?!! A demo FMC??!?! It's like buying a car, but you only get the wheels when you buy the upgrade pack.

Thats the last time I purchase anything from those wallopers.

The CS 757 really is vomit enducing stuff :sicky: and their support fourms are just as bad. Say anything bad about it and you get an admin spitting out propaganda and then bans you.
I know people that have defected to the PSS 757, which has fully working FMC's, decent flight dynamics and doesn't need a computer that can run FSX at 24 fps.

Oh dear.. I bought block 2 as well  I know it was cheap but there are limits :poke:

Never got as far as the FMC.. infact, only flown it once.. maybe twice after I'd bought it but I agree.. a 'demo mode' FMC is as useful as t*t's on a bull and no manual is lamentable :tuttut: Gobsmacked.. pure and simple  :huf:

Would it be contrary to the EULA for someone out there who bought anything but block 2 to pass the 'user manual' on to a block 2 user?? There has to be a way around this debacle  Surely a fully functional FMC wouldn't be out of order either :k:

I would think Dave they would have more problem trying to justify the manual not being there than getting someone for passing that vital piece of information around.

It only the bit that enables you to use what you've paid for :dunno: :huf:

They should be ashamed.....but I bet they don't give a hoot :curse:

I'm inclined to agree Garry. There was nothing I remember that said this was in any way a 'cut down' version. It was supposed to be a 'sale'.. pure and simple

Fingers crossed some kindly soul out there makes his or her manual available (privately of course) so that the few who bought it for a bit of serious flying can go about their business.. or at least start the darned thing!

And it didnt say anywhere that none of the systems work or that it has the flight dynamics of the default 737

No mate. I've just trawled the CS 757 forum and it appears we should all have had our fingers on the pulse before we let go with the plastic. We're not alone in asking why there's no manual either

One guy posted a link here...

http://www.fsimcafe.com/Downloads/ShowD ... ductID=988

While it may not be 100% compatible with the CS product.. it should get the cold start brigade a little closer.

Thank god this thing was only $9.99

EDIT...
Found this file over at Allnodes too. It includes a pile of other aircraft but the 752 is listed as one.. coll2004.zip

Oh dear, I seem to have been lucky enough to have purchased the Block B version with manuals.
