VC10 Paint kit?

Post by Mac »

Hi everyone
first off, I would like to say how great this site is, been using the Comet and VC-10 for a month of two now and think they're amazing, appart from my Audigy ZS issue (Not much I can do about that though)
Anyways, I've searched all over the forums here and on Dave's site, and can't find a repaint kit for the VC10 C1K. Is there one available? Also, can the textures for the flyable one be used on the AI model?

Thanks

Hi Mac and welcome to the forum

DM never released a paintkit for the VC10 as all the operators who flew it are already represented with the release model. A few repaints of the C1K have been made (the 40th Anniversary for eg) but that example was done by one of the guys here who IS a painter and he made his own kit. Simple answer is.. there isn't one for the C1K either.

You CAN use the model and textures as AI with no problems.. that is unless you surround yourself with them  I have DM's C1K's as AI at Brize and they look gorgeous

There is no issued kit for the reason mentioned

I have done some which were repaints not mods and I painted without a kit. :worried:

Unless DM's got something hidden away that could be useful here, then I'll sort out the partial - kit I have here and get it uploaded.

thanks for the reply's everyone. I love the paints already available with DM's aircraft, however I was going to use a paint kit for my personal VA I use with the FSPassengers addon. The AI model was hopefully going be used for the benifit of other pilots during the FSPassengers world tour online legs. Having the C1K might encourage more people to do something a little more exciting than lonely cruising, like refueling (or resupplying beer, who knows? :drinkers:)
I'll have a look at trying to make a livery without a paintkit as such, hopefully the tactical grey will be fairly easy to work with, if not, I'll take you up on your partial paint kit Igorski

  Even though I very seldom fly them, I still got them all

BOAC Golden is for me. Always has and always will be.

I have even thought about the VC10 in the old Viking livery of SAS, because I like the livery on the Caravelle....but I have now come to the conclusion, that the BOAC golden is the livery for me.

I must say though that I like the others as well, and once in a while I try to pick one of them in the Create Flight window. But when it actually comes to flying, I always end up with...well you know.

Even though both David and Garry has been so kind to do me the 3 GK-versions, I still revert to Golden...

But as I said..I have them all...

Garry,

The VA I fly with, Albion Air Cargo, uses an 'ex-RAF' C1K the same way as the RAF does. We fly support contracts for some other military VAs, carrying their ground staff and tanking their jets at the same time.

Imagination is a wonderful thing........
