Found an interesting bit of paper today while rummaging through some archives:-
My logbook reveals that this was October 1960...I wonder if anyone could guess what it is all about :think:

Is 1960 a bit early for your Hunter flights Peter and if so.. would they be Vampire flights with stage miles at the end?? Could be way, way off as I've not looked at a map

I was thinking of some African independence issues :think: but only Nigeria had it that month..from the British that is

Wasn't Zimbabwe still Rhodesia in 1960?? I was only 3-years-old so I can't really remember!!

Well.. '65 was when Ian Smith stuck his fingers up but it remained Rhodesia until 1980. Dunno about red herrings, I'm seeing flying pink pigs too

Yes it was, and Salisbury was the capital city...now Harare. The Zimbabwe Ruins mentioned are a mysterious group of rather extraordinary buildings that date to before white man in Africa :think:
