OK guys, not flown a flight yet as waiting for clearance on type rating for the BAC1-11 and Trident but........do you need to stay on the internet during your flights or can you log off then after the flight log back on to the internet?

Advice on this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Regards Nigel.

Hi Nigel..

That's had 11 views and not one reply!!! :dunno:

No.. you do not have to stay online. Make sure your connection is good before you hit the parking brake at the other end. This isn't a prerequisite but it will save any possible problems uploading a pirep manually(many here have lost 3hr+ flights and its not funny) :poke:

Hi Nigel,

Another tip if you are going to be flying whilst disconnected from the internet is to turn the FlyNET tracker off. In C:\WINDOWS you will find a FlyNET configuration file, open it with notepad and change tracker=1 to tracker=0. Save and exit. This stops the client 'calling home' during your flight to monitor your progress.

Thanks for the replies Dave & John but, where do I find the FlyNET configuration file? Had a look round and could not locate it. In the meantime will fly connected.

Again, many thanks.

Regards Nigel.

Hi Nigel,

I guess you must have speed-read my reply as I had given the location. You'll find it in C:\WINDOWS. It's titled 'FlyNET' and is a configuration file.
