How strange
If you read the start to this thread, you will know that I was having problems with the F28 running smoothly.
I eventually tied this down to Gauge 72 in Window00 of the panel.cfg.
Disabling this, all worked well, though I lost the voice call outs.
Having added Tony's excellent Iberia repaint, I set off for a flight. Again, I got the stutters.
I noticed that this was only happening after opening the overhead panel. This time, I've traced it to Gauge10 (the Radio CD player) in Window01 of the Panel.cfg.
Having disabled this, I have enabled Guage72, with no recurrence of the problem.
I had made a couple of changes to the main FS9 folder (increased Terrain radius and Texture Bandwidth), but am surprised this has had these effects.
Puzzled

i had the same problem: everything worked fine (FPS 26+) until i used the spot view: FPs <9.
The solution is to rename the two effects files that get installed with the F28. They are PFJ Fokker F28_Smoke.fx and one other one, also called PFJ something. Rename them, and the problem disappeared for me.

Thanks Gevers,
But the problem that I experience is not linked to the F28_Smoke.fx
I have followed the advice on the Project Fokker website, but this does not solve the problem.
I have traced it to the gauge
gauge10=radiocd4!radiocd, 89,661,239,75
Which I have disabled by placing // before 'gauge'.
This has solved the problem, but has resulted in the loss of the radio/cd player in the overhead panel.
I have written a full report to Project Fokker, as other users reported the same problem and fix on the Avsim forum.
Regards
Kevin

So does it all work fine now apart from the loss off the radio/cd playerKevin Farnell wrote: This has solved the problem, but has resulted in the loss of the radio/cd player in the overhead panel.

Yes James, it runs smoothly now.
By disabling the radio/cd player, I lose the option of making cabin announcements - no big deal.
To use the radio/cd player, open the overhead panel and click on the two red switches that appear to the bottom left of the window.
Once the radio/cd player is there, you can choose FM or AM and click on the preset buttons along the bottom. This will give either pilot or cabin crew announcements.
