My first flight in a while, and a bad one! (merchantman)

Post by Reheat »

Hi Guys,

Well yesterday I got sick of waiting. Over Christmas we got broken in to, little b*ggers stole all the good stuff and anything they couldn't carry they poured coke over so it wouldn't work (including my FS PC!!) which means I have been without FlightSim since December the 27th

The insurance, obviously, are taking their time over getting the PC fixed as it is not a "priority" item.

So for the past 6 weeks I have had all the components in the airing cupboard, yesterday I took them out, cleaned them off with surgical alcohol and a little brush, then dried them with a heat gun.

Et voila my PC will now stay on for about half an hour before she overheats (PSU problem, fan isn't kicking in) so I JUST managed to get a flight in from EGKK to EGHH.

Here we are at 1,800ft and still got three red's

Levelling off to try and build up speed lost by the dragging gear

Recycle the handle for about the 20'th time and it decides to retract! result!

Four minutes later and its back down for landing

And to say it was my first one in almost 2 months I reckon its rather good, even if I do say so myself!

Just as I was shutting down the PC shut itself down, but hey I was pleased anyway! Very nice to get back n the virtual skies, even if just for a little while.

Thanks for looking and sorry the colours are a little washed out, guess thats the fault of a dying GPU as they were fine pre coke!

Sorry to hear about your bad experience, Alex. That must be so depressing. However, thanks for the pics of your first flight back. They look really good and the washed out colours seem to add to the reality. In fact they look so good, I'm almost tempted to get a propliner out to make a change from those racy jets......almost tempted.

I like the shot of the landing

Now then Ian.. where did you leave those pills!!

Nice shots Alex. Total tw@t about being burgled :curse: Look on the bright side.. they might all have been killed in a road accident, injuring only themselves of course
