Sorry for the spelling its been ALONG time - I had a rather nice Steam Roller kit that had an electric motor in it - it could also be made into a Dockyard crane - and the reason for meccano was - it taught me the basic use of tools - screwdrivers, spanners etc etc at the grand old age of 6.

I'm with Leif on this. Meccano set me up for keeping my car on the road as a student.

Could never get interested in putting bricks together after nuts/bolts/bits of metal :dance:

I used Beta Builder by Airfix to make building but other than than Meccano was my thing.

Making Bridges and cranes.

Like Leif I found it useful to understand the basics of tool use and the importance of making sure your nuts don't work loose :roll:

Impressive though the Falcon is if I where to choose just one (and at these prices it would have to be just one) it would be the rebel blockade runner. It looks the absolute business.

However the website lists it as not being available in this country. :sad:
