We have two sets of prices here as well Garry - Domestic and Bonded
Bonded being for International flights only and has no taxes attached therefore is markedly cheaper - Of course this all may be a little to
complicated for the Flynet "game"

Probably is Leif

But I mentioned it to stress that strangely variations in pricing would not be as strange as it might seem.

I think you've hit the nail on the head there Leif. It's unreasonable to expect accurate fuel pricing throughout though I'd still be interested to learn what model Konny used as a basis.

Tks for the HU on fuel sources down there Garry. I'd presumed that it would come from the UK but then thought why not France which is, after all, a darned sight closer. As far as FlyNET goes, St Malo.. the nearest French destination for anything of any size, is even more expensive than Jersey  It's just one of those things we have to keep in mind when planning in order to make the maximum profit out of each flight. On occassion, it's not viable to tank right up at the departure field so you have to bite the bullet and accept getting stung on the return  The VC10's are pretty prone to this so they more than any have to be careful just how much they spend as even a small loss can turn into a big one with the multiplyer added :worried:

He didn't use a model. It's 100% random. He explained it in the forums at least once. There is a upper and lower price limit and each price is random within that.

Konny has indicated that one of the future updates to FlyNET will involve "sizing" of airports which will allow more uniformity to fuel prices (bigger airports typically have lower fuel prices than smaller airports) and more items to allow the system to create more "realistic" pricing and demand for passengers and cargo.

As for fuel - you're right Lief, bonded fuel is cheaper than domestic, but you left out the uplift costs. At Denver, domestic uplift cost around $0.10/gallon. Bonded uplift however cost $2.00/gallon plus. Why? Because we had to keep tankers on hand EMPTY for the sole purpose of holding bonded fuel if there was a need for a defuel from one of the international flights. And if they are unable to take back the fuel (like what happened when a Virgin Atlantic 747 diverted into Denver on the way to LAX from London), we have to hold the fuel for a certain number of days to let anything from the tanks settle out and then strain the fuel before being able to put it into any other aircraft. I don't know how Konny will handle uplift costs, but we'll find out soon enough I'm sure.

Hi CT,

Unfortunately, I don't have time to trawl the forum for FlyNET's hidden mysteries.. that's why we have a CEO with his finger on the pulse. Random makes sense as that is obviously what it is. Can't wait for DaKurt to naff the client up implimenting a change of THAT magnitude

It's not a client change to change that stuff. It's a server-side issue, which means that Konny will be doing it.
