it's because in the link above, the ',' is also included. Just copy the link, then paste it into your browser, removing the extraneous comma.

Not a definitive answer but Air UK chartered or leased BAC 1-11s from European Aviation in the 1990s. European were based at Hurn from 1994. they had a mixture of 200, 400 and 510s.

European used the 1-11 up till the stage 2 deadline in 2002 and seriously considered stage 3 hush kits for them.

So it's possible Air UK were using them in 1997.

Yes.. EAL ran 1-11's into the early 2000's but the question is, did AirUK still run them in '97  I don't know the answer to that I'm afraid but I'm guessing someone here will in the fullness of time

That's an exec

The question was to Air UK who had finished with the One-Eleven many years before 1997.

The best bet as mentioned above is European who only had 500's and British World who had a mixed fleet but perhaps just 500 by then.

Aircraft from these two outfit could and did appear just about anywhere operating services or just ad hoc charters and replacements for back up or whatever for various airlines.

If it was a One-Eleven and I was to guess....and it is a guess then I would think British World is the most likely.

If it was Air UK then it would have been a F-100 in a darker livery by then.

Funny you should mention noise.

I've flown in One-Elevens and I wouldn't call it noisy..all that was on the outside

In the cruise most of the noise was airflow rumbling over thew wing.

Hi Dave

Yeah I had a feeling that was a reply as to whether a 1-11 was around 1n 1997 where as your question posed an Air UK one

Those later Hush kits....some new compliant fit..I don't know how many are fitted with this.

I was only aware of one but I have never really looked or even checked if this is the one I was thinking of.

Seeing there are less than 20 flying now it would seem unlikely money to that extent would be spent.

I guess Toby will know all about this.

So that'll save me looking
