Without checking my source, I think Comets were at Lyneham as has been already said.

I was stationed at briz between 1970 to 1975,and was on the first line maintenance, for the brits of both 99/511 sqds and i can confirm, that then the sqds based there where as nigel stated.
VC10 (10 Sqdn)
Belfast (53 Sqdn)
Britannia (99 & 511 Sqdns)
The brits where at the far end of the field, near the mushroom farm, belfasts and vc10s where on the terminal side.
Also concorde used to do low level flypasts during its test flights, and monarch brits used to come into the airfield now and then, and we had to do turnrounds on them, and provide ground power, and open/close the cargo door.and try to fix any snags, without using any spares,if any bits where required, then they had to get their maint personel to the base.
regards alan.
