hinch, a remedy for your fssound.dll . this happens with the maam dc3 and the fix was this. move the fssound.dll out of the modules and place in the general fs9 folder. that removes the fault. how and why i don't know but this trick stops the crash and everything works fine.
i have done this on my computer for the dc3 and just downloaded the fokker 28 and everything runs ok.

very nice plane, quite easy to fly and those heat/emissions effects are nice. The textures are nicer the the f70/100 too so great stuff all round.
as a note, it has no impact on my frames at all.

Are you strating with a default aircraft?
If not try that and changed it when loaded.
Garry
sorry for the late reply.
I've tried your suggestion, but no luck.
I may try a clean install of FS9. A couple of weeks ago I tried to re-install FS9 over the top of the original.
maybe something is corrupted, I've ahd a couple of other aircraft behaving strangely.
Cheers
Kevin

Hi Kevin
Oh dear
Have you tried the FSsound.dll move that was a cure for Hinches problem..no idea why it would or cause yours but just in case it is upsetting something and manifesting itself as some different problem.
For the sake of elimination

Thanks Garry, I've tried that too.
I've now completed a fresh install of FS9 plus FS9.1 patch.
F28 is the only add on aircraft currently.
The problem seemed to have gone away until I selected Autopilot and IAS.
Re-trying John's suggestion of dropping the sound card acceleration seems to have helped but the problem eventually recurs.
I'm wondering whether it's worth replacing my onboard sound with my SoundBlaster Audigy from my old PC.
I notice another poster has the same problem at the Avsim site. I have now managed to post there after enabling Avsim cookies.
