Post by St.Paddy »

Hi All

Does anyone know of any addons which will give us any Oceanic Navaids - especially for flights across The Pond???

I think he means---or at least I hope he means---prior to the development of INS. Other than sun shots or the like, how'd a crew get across the pond?

Tim,

Tom Gibson over at CalClassic has just brought out some scenery that adds oceanic stations to the Atlantic and Pacific - link here

Oh, that's fantastic! I've got several aircraft from a variety of airlines---BOAC and Pan Am chief amongst them---that'll appreciate that sort of navaid. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

Thanks from me too, Colin. For one who eschews GPS, that looks very interesting indeed.

Welcome chaps - if you look at the Calclassic forum there is another post that describes what the stations did, who ran them etc etc.

Without going to calclassics site

In the late 40s and early 50s there were weatherships across the atlantic that were equipped with DF (NDB) beacons
