Hi CP

Yes i was making the Mk1 Blenheim.

it's currently on hold while i try really hard to understand why aces rodgered so much functionality of FS9 in the name of progress.

ie@ i am trying to get my tiny brain to understand the complete B******s
thast they call the FSX SDK :worried:

far too many functions that work perfectly in FSX have been removed from the development tools just so we have to learn how to walk agin just for the sake of it.

Not knocking FSX it's self as i love it to bits, just the fact that Aces Fixed so much that didn't need to be fixed (Broke) is probably a better description.

Some developers here have no worries as they use 3dsMax/GMAX which has it's tools ready to use once they have understood the new bits but I and a few others here have no Tools currently working for FSX "pure" models.

I know i can do FS9 models but as a modeller i have to learn all this new stuff fast or get left up to my earholes in doo doo & get left behind my
the learner devs.

Normal Service will be resumed as soon as i have a toolbox that is unlocked :worried:

the Blenheim has a
95% finished Exterior model.
90% finished FDE.
40% finished VC & 3d Gauges (no old fasioned gauges in VC only full 3d
modelled gauged like the V3 Chipmunk.

Dave G is also now using this method as we have found it to be far superior to the old Jerky hard to read VC gauges.

they work fine on 2d panels but a terrible in a VC in FSX.

Hope this helps (possibly not, But Hey :dunno: )

Regards
Rick

I'm really impressed by the VC gauges in the Chipmunk v3! Is there much penalty in using this method instead of using the old gauges?

I've read about the Blenheim cockpit. Didn't it have the hydraulic cocks for the operation of the undercarriage, flaps and gun-turret all conveniently located behind the pilot's right elbow? They were all identically shaped, but they'd helpfully written what each one did on the control. Unfortunately there weren't many RAF pilots with eyes in their right elbows... the design was asking for a pilot to grab the wrong control in the circuit, turn on the gun turret and then not have enough hydraulic power to actually lower the undercarriage...
