Hi Paul

I've see several pics showing burned out wreck the other side of the runway in the 50's/60's.....was that the fire dump?

From the mid 70's that was occupied by ex BA Viscount G-AOJB in BEA basic.

Is that the wreck you reffer to?

Wonderful scenery. The terminal has now been converted into town houses, but, as it's a listed building externally it remains the same. As it happens I've just bought the one on the end next to the control tower. The control tower is still in place, and is used as a bedroom. The viewing platform is now a roof terrace. I'd rather it had remained as an airport but at least the building will still be around for the foreseeable future.

Could be Garry. But my memory is telling me that the livery if anything had the colour of blue somewhere. I could be wrong.

A vivid memory of Speke is Aer Lingus 737s making an absolute din. Marvellous!

Hi all,

If someone knows where/how long/what direction the old runway was at Speke, I might be able to create an AFCAD to backdate the airport to the old version?? From what I read, the new runway was built in 1966, while the new terminal wasn't built until 1986. I might be able to do a post 1966 version too, but that would have to wait for me to see if I could do anything at all with the existing scenery file.

How many parking stands did the old terminal have, and in what arrangement?

Take care,
Tom Gibson
