It's OK,,

I really do understand how and why one might attach themselves to a particular Aircraft. If I would have only known.... Really though,, maybe we could make a note in the fleet for certain Airframe's..

Like: "Take last, Ivan's Favorite" or " Please reserve for Dave if you can"

It might be fun to have an Aircraft that one can mostly count on.

I'll get her back today though Dan. I know you love your TEN..

Welcome "home" Ivan although this isn't home to you. I see you and "GK" earned quite a few bucks on this trip, well done!

I tried something similar yesterday on a trip to TXKF, sat it x1 and on autopilot cruising FL340, everything went well (headwinds at 75 knots a peak) but still going fine.

Went to tug in the kids, and about half an hour or so went back to see how things were going. My aircraft was suddenly deep into a unrecoverable stall!..nothing to do other than shut down FS immediately, thus going back to booked state..(that was halfway through the flight so bit of a bugger.

But the now the "new" EGLL as appeared, so I'm off to some busy AI configuration so I might as well cancel my current flight a loose a few buck (I haven't got the faintest idea of what to do with them anyway at the time).

I sure hope you had a good experience with the VC10 and I hope my comments haven't scared you completely off?

All the best.

Darn it. Sorry you had a rough go of it. If you want, if there's a way, I can fly your booked flight? Is there a way to do that? This way, I could get into a different VC-10 and you could book something in your Fav' Aircraft. I don't know if there's a way to do that but I would be happy to if it could save the flight..

Man, I had a strange approach into EGLL. I generally fly all approaches by hand but I spent my time over the pond at FL340 reading through the Manual a few times and decided to let the AP line me up on the Glide Slope.. Well, I think I waited to long or something. About 10? miles out from RWY 4-L, I hit 'GS-Auto' and she started into a left turn  I was Vat+ 20 and flaps 30? {not full flap's but one click away}. My IAS dropped like a rock!! I saved her though. Off went the AP and I hit the gas, lined back up and touched down at -240-fpm?.. This is harder than I like to hit but it didn't hurt the Maint' rating..

Anyway, I'm going to fly some approaches today and get a handle on the AP..

Glad you have her back!!

P.S. EDIT: No, your comments? I over reacted. I was tired and should have known you were mostly poking at me :poke: .. My Home for private flying in KTVC. It's a wonderful little airport  My VA home is EGLL because I love the British jets Old and New and I might as well fly them where they feel most comfy.. I'm getting a good look at the area and it's a fun place to fly. It's amazing how one can get anywhere from there..

GS- AutoFlare might do the trick as well, she's an angel to land no rush, nice and easy, just slowdown in due time...

Yes indeed. By hand, I love the way she lands. I just need to learn how to use the AP correctly..

Oh Dan! I wish I had time to fly for the VA. I wouldn't let you sleep. You'd never be able to let GK out of your sight.
