This one's probably been covered somewhere, but I can't find it. Anyway - I own both the Dreamfleet 727 and the Captain Sim 727.
I like the look and feel (visually) of Captain Sim, but not how it flies (climbing out at 4000 fpm with overspeed warnings etc).
Dreamfleet - I love the way it flies, but not so much how it looks (just a personal thing really)
So, as a test, I simply gave the Captain Sim 727-100 the Dreamfleet 727-100 .air file suitably renamed (purely for my own use!) and so far I now have a Captain Sim 727-100 that flies as well as the Dreamfleet one.
Any problems likely to crop up that I don't know of?
Question - swapping .air files

You may need to copy the aircraft.cfg file across also..this is where you usually find contact points, lights etc. Also many of the autopilot settings are here too..so you'll probably find that not much has changed except for the handling characteristics and aerodynamicssimtrac wrote:This one's probably been covered somewhere, but I can't find it. When you do that you will probably upset it, and will then need to copy the contact points and lights paras from your old aircraft.cfg.simtrac wrote:Thanks Jim - I'll give that a whirl and see what happens.

I'm copying selected bits (the ones I think I will need - ie autopilot settings etc) from the dreamfleet one over the captainsim one. I remember when I did a similar thing with the dreamfleet 737 into FS9 - the lights either buried themselves in the wings or floated alongside. All was well with that one of course when you came along, Peter, with your merge ...
I'm not going too mad with the weights and CofG since both these aircraft have their own preflight configuration programs and without a lot of testing there's no telling what would happen to the loadings.
I have just been mightily confused - sitting on the ground at Bournemouth with everything off, the aircraft started rocking wildy and then was literally picked up and blown sideways into the ground (several times) - turned out that this evening Active Sky has picked up duff winds and dialled it in at 240 at 2030 knots
