AI help

Post by Effoh »

Afternoon Gents,

After weeks of 'will I won't I' I finally got around to installing Tim's UK1967 AI last night/today. Before I make my request may I again thank Tim for all his hard work in putting these together :welldone:

Now my plea

Having searched all the main flightsim sites that I know, I can find models/repaints for all aircraft except these :-

AC#5006,317,"AI Viscount Channel"
AC#5021,120,"AI Dakota BUA"
AC#5034,180,"AI B-170 Aer Turas"
AC#5037,120,"AI Dakota BMA"
AC#5056,160,"AI Heron BUA"

Anyone have any idea where I might find same, or suggest a suitable alternative? I'm eyeing John's Air Anglia repaint of the DC3 as a possible alternative to the BMA one, as this would seem to fit following the conversation in another thread

Hi Colin

Just one thing.....there were no BUA Herons....they were Morton Air Services until that became a part of BUIA....so you won't find one of those (I hope) :worried:

I think by 1967 the BUA Daks were all transferred to Mortons except G-AOBN the radar Calibration aircraft.......Morton was a part of BUA so they were BUA services, but operated in their own right.

Even if there were still BUA Daks then it's more that OK to use the Morton one.

Hi Garry,

Thanks very much as always

I do have a Morton Heron but not a DC3 so will see what I can find.

Would using the Air Anglia instead of BMA be 'reasonable', do you think?

Hi Colin

There is a Morton Dak

Air Anglia had nothing in common with BMA

Guess I'll have to keep hunting then as it has eluded me so far!

I asked about Air Anglia because of comments here-http://www.cbfsim.org/cbfsimv5/cbfsbb/v ... php?t=8620- guess I misread/misunderstood.

Whilst I have you - Channel Airways Viscount? [tongue in cheek mode]I can't believe you've missed one so where's it hidden?[/tongue in cheek mode]

Colin

There's a BUA repaint for the stock FS9 DC3 on Avsim - dc3bu.zip I think.
For the Heron there's a repaint of the Dee Waldron Heron for Jersey Airlines, and/or the John Hinson Heron 2B come with a Morton livery.

For the Channel Viscount, I think I'll use the Continental "Golden" livery [ if nobody comes up with a proper repaint in the meantime ? ] as the Channel version was almost unchanged [ Sq. Ldr. Jones did not believe in wasting money on paint !! ].

Richard.

There is a BUA Dak paint but no BUA Daks in 1967.all were Morton by then., but the BUA livery is they same so it's close

There is a lot of difference between a Continental and Channel Viscount
