Hello Captain P,

I have just done a quick search for you,and it looks like it will cost you a few bob .

STOCKHOLM

KLM 162.00 VIA AMSTERDAM
BA 177.70 VIA HEATHROW
SAS 184.80 VIA COPENHAGEN

GOTHENBURG

KLM 162.00 VIA AMSTERDAM
SAS 176.90 VIA COPENHAGEN
CITY 227.50 DIRECT

All prices are sterling, include taxes, and are based on one adult return (economy)with a four night stay in july.

All the prices were found on the Manchester Airport website http://www.manchesterairport.co.uk.

Give me a shout if you need to know anything about Manchester,as i live here and will be happy to help.

Best wishes,

Pete.

Hello Capt' P

How about Ryanair, Man-Dub-Gothenberg.

Fares start from 30euros. (9.99-19.99)

If you are travelling with a major carier would it be cheaper to route though Sweden with a stop over one way and UK direct the other?

Another alternative is to fly from Liverpool.Wizzair can take you to gothenburg or stockholm via warsaw for 9.99 per leg plus taxes.

Liverpool airport is around a 35-40 min drive from Manchester.

Both Ryanair and Wizz operate into Gothenburg city airport which is about 7 miles from the centre of the city.

Thanks for the info chaps. we have got a good deal on the flight from Ottawa to Manchester via london. about $800.00 canadian each. the best part is the london to manchester with BMI, great service and very friendly staff. good food aswell.
the trip to sweden would be a very short visit possibly two days only, thus the enquiry for cheap airfares. Now i belive the friends live in a place called Jonkoping some five hours from uppsala. As yet we are still mulling the idea of the swedish visit .

just another question, is it true that all museum's are now free to get into. ie science/ industry museum in manchester. have to take the wife and little lad down the mock sewer, show them what it's about.

again many thanks for your help.

PS. has the uk retained it's own money or have they now gone over to the euro totally. been 3yeras since we last visited blighty.

The museum of science and industry is free to enter (except for certain special exibitions which are held in a separate part of the museum) ,car parking is expensive though,so it would be best to travel in on public transport.
