Chris

That was a direct response to Toms information that he gave and was not in reference to any previous part of the thread.

It was asked so it would be clearly understood buy anyone reading it from that point as Tom mentions piston.

So stop your quoting back with irrelevant information.

That really is annoying

Garry, my post (the one before Tom's) gave the EXACT same information as Tom's and included that it worked for all aircraft types, so I don't see how it's irrelevant to the discussion at hand about how to add contrails.

Oh... maybe it's because I put it up? Come on Garry, I have a hard time believing that you're that biased.

Apologize for what Garry? I said I didn't think you were that biased to do something like that. If anyone should be apologizing it should be you because you jumped down my throat without reading the entirety of my statement BOTH times. First one has a nice little smiley at the end of it meaning that the post is not 100% serious, and the second you left out the following portion of my statement "I have a hard time believing". You are biased; you've made it clear that you don't like me in previous posts and that you don't always read the entirety of my posts before you respond. I don't really care about that because we all have biases. My point was that I know you're not SO biased as to just flat-out ignore a post because of who put it up. So why should I apologize?

Chris

As I explained

Tom mention in his config change PISTONS

So I posed that point so that it will be clear to everyone.

I told you why I did it

You want to argue all the time?

OK.. I think I'll jump in and call a halt to proceedings here having noted all due comments.

Tom has said that from his observations, a prop driven aircraft (of any description) can use this addition with the caveat that it has to be manually engaged (I presume by the use of the 'I' key) and only on true jets will it work automatically. This should have answered everyone's questions without the need for further debate.. if you get my drift

Tks to Tom, Peter and all who have tried it

Dave, your reading is incorrect. You must insert the line given into any Aircraft.CFG file that you wish to have contrail effects other than those that are of the "jet" type. Their activation is fully automatic within the sim once that line is present. You can add this line to any aircraft CFG if you wish to edit the temperature at which contrails appear (i.e. for an SR-71, the contrails will not appear until a much higher altitude due to the much higher exhaust temperatures delaying when contrails occur).

There could be confusion which is why I posted after Tom post that reffered to PISTONS as to whether it was T?P as well in that case.
