Today's Super VC10 Release

Post by Chris Harrington »

I was within minutes of posting a query about a particular Super VC10 livery, when I went to check Mr. Maltby's site to make absolutely certain I wasn't overlooking it. I'd been there earlier in the week to see about the livery, and it wasn't there. I scrolled down to the list of Mk 1151 liveries, and look what I found, a BOAC Cunard Super VC10, along with a model, cockpit and sound rig update. Hooray! Thanks a lot, Mr. Maltby!

Now all that's left is figuring out where the Super and the 707-420 went on Cunard service. :D

Hi Chris

And welcome

I don't know off hand exactly which services were Cunard but the New York certainly were.

Hey Chris

to add to Garrys list I think the ORD-YUL-LHR route was also Cunard

BUT - we have a resident VC10 expert who will probably be along shortly to tell us :)

Welcome to the forum BTW - best bunch of folks under the sun

Cheers Leif

The Carribean was the main interest with Cunard which is why they had teamed up with Eagle before CUnard went to BOAC behind Eagles back.

That way they got New York as well as the Caribbean.

The reason I mentioned that route - was that I remember seeing VC10s with Cunard on them in Montreal

Very neat route as it would be able to get a fair bit of business from Montreal down South competing with TCA Vanguards.

Thanks DM for the Super VC10 plus Panel/Sound updates.

One thing I've noticed with the revised Panel - I have the Delco Carousel INS installed and, when you click on the appropriate icon, the overlaid 'calculators' are now just the same size and not larger as before. (The latter are preferential of course, since it's much easier to use and program same.)

I have made a modification to the panel.cfg in the folder:
DMFS Shared Files\Vickers VC10 Panel

{Window09}
Background_color=16,16,16
size_mm=400,158
window_size_ratio=1.000
position=8
visible=0
ident=41
window_size= 0.450, 0.237
window_pos= 0.552, 0.768

gauge00=../civa/INS!Cdu11, 0,0,200
gauge01=../civa/INS!Cdu21, 200,0,200

This enlarges the size of the pop-up CIVA gauges slightly.

Thanks Graeme and welcome to the forum :wink:

For those wishing to add Graeme's mod, note the {Window09} entry should be [Window09] (square brackets). If we're gonna do it, we might as well do it right :wink:
