BEA Logo help wanted

Post by speedbird591 »

I've got a little project and I wondered if anybody has any suitable BEA jpegs knocking around. I've run off a few sheets of sticky labels for an ex-BOAC friend of mine who likes sticking them on his correspondence. They look roughly like this:

Now his brother, who is an ex-Trident FO would like me to do him some BEA ones (flying jack). The problem is that I haven't got any BEA logos and they are not as easy to draw as BOAC

I'm looking for something like this, but better quality:

and perhaps a side view of a Trident although I could probably take a screenshot from a DM model. Also can anybody remember any BEA advertising slogans from that era?

Finally - during my search, I found this charming postcard for sale on eBay. I thought it was so nice that I'd share it with you

Cheers for now

Ian

Thanks, Garry - just the job.

Still searching for an advertising slogan. My mind's a complete blank (nothing unusual there then  )

It used to be BEA No. 1 in Europe but I suppose you want something original

Just remember it was the Flying Jack

It was never called the speedjack, :curse: high speed jack :curse: :curse: or anything like it.....just in case you thought of putting it in your slogan

Ian,

You can find larger versions of all old Trident operators' logos on my site http://www.hs121.org. If you need bigger versions still, let me know and I'll send you the originals.

Thanks Garry - BEA Number One in Europe. That's what I was looking for!

Thanks, Toby - I've grabbed the BEA logo from your site and that'll do fine.

This is the sticky label I've created with Garry's, Toby's and DM's help. You might find a few stuck to First Great Western trains along with the BOAC ones and you'll know I was there
