Can you post your PC spec please as i know it's much better than mine.
& mine runs FSX on medium settings at an acceptable level.
(with modified default textures) which look no different to the originals.

I thought you had an SLI setup?.

Seriously I loved FS2002 and only changed due to pressure from the voices in my head! I always thought and still do.. that FS9 was a patch we paid for to improve FS2002 which I think a lot agree was a huge leap fwd from FS2000 and had a better graphics engine than FS9.
I saw that it was a better overall sim than FS2002 and did change grunting all the way I must add

But I see no advantages on FSX at all, it offers me nothing I want or need except more frustration! I have shed loads of that in real time as it is

Ok specs
well it was a M*sh built system thrown together by 4 monkeys one who was obviously suffering from period pains and the other three had learning difficulties.

AMD64 3800 CPU
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Motherboard
1Gb RAM
2 X Nvidia 6600GT 128Mb ram on each card
200 Gb Hard disc
300 Gb Hard disc
Creative SB Audigy2ZS Sound card
XP Home SP2

The CPU is auto overclocked by the motherboard(not much, depends on load of work by cpu) the SLI is not used ( you cannot run two monitors in SLI... thanks M*sh for not pointing that out when that weasel took the money off me)
I run Nvidia drivers 91.47
I do not use AA on the card but in FS, reason being Nvidia are shit at drivers and you do not see the aircraft in the menu box when you want to change planes... don't know why but it is just like that, in AA on FS9 it works a treat I also run FS in fullscreen mode.

I visited the IFC show on Saturday, travelling via a very fast Virgin Pendolino train from Euston and, really enjoyed the day.
The Â£10 advance entrance fee was a bit high, however, I consider it an admission to a 'club' where you can discuss our hobby with like-minded people, including VATSIM, etc.
Since I am sticking with FS9/2004 for the foreseeable future, I was quite happy to pick up some discounted items. The general feeling was why rush to FS10 when the former works quite well?
Although selling like hot cakes, am still not sure about this 'butt-kicker' vibratory item - may ultimately be of more interest to the ladies...!

I also met one of the 'stars' of the ITVV DVD Concorde round-trip - Captain David Rowland - what a gent! Amongst other things, he told me of one of his previous BOAC VC10 experiences - that of crossing Vietnam during the war en route from Hong Kong to Bangkok, with a scheduled passenger flight, along a 'Berlin type commercially approved corridor' and seeing U.S. B52's higher to the right plus, F4 Phantoms lower down to his left. Interesting times...

I also have a M*sh system - albeit 4 years old now (2100+ Athlon GF4 128mb Vidcard 1024mb Ram, etc.) and to date, have overall been pleased with it both in quality and performance.

I popped along for the last hour on Sunday, and got in for free.
I had been at the model railway exhibition with my Dad, but managed to escape for a short while.
By this time, the place was almost deserted, with tumbleweed blowing about.
I totally agree with Tony on the poor showing at the Microsoft stand - both staff and equipment! I did see a Microsoft rep being interviewed on camera, but he disappeared as soon as the film crew finished.
I have to say that the model railway exhibition was very well organised, and much better attended.

Hope next years flightsim show improves.

Sdaly they have not from previous years. I think if it was cheaper that may have he;lped. I travelled 15 miles to see it I would not have wanted to travel much further :sad:

I got there early, expecting a BIG gig...... Walked round it all in 30 mins........... I sadly even got 2 day pass...... Well did pick up a C-130 and the saitek pedals on the cheep..... Even met up with Alex from Reheat/IRIS!!!

Hmmm, I spent both days there on the stand of the VA I fly for, and it was even worse for those of us 'working' there. :sad:

We had to get there at silly times, endure the variable rulings of the 'Security Staff', none of whom seemed to speak to each other at any time, and to add insult to inury they expected us to PAY for parking!!!! I pointed out that we were a non-profit making organisation and we were meant to be part of the 'attraction' so why the devil were we expected to fork out for that?

The entire NEC setup is just one giant rip-off. :sad:

I agree 100% about the awful showing of FSX on almost every stand, although the main demo setup of Horizon seemed to be running on a Cray-1, almost no stutters and zero blurries! They did say their PC was specially built for the demo, but didn't seem to keen on telling me the spec.

Apparently there were 2601 vistors over the two days, I'm sure Bob's shows took in more than that when they were at the Motorcycle Museum.

I recall Bob's shows and they were much better attended. I think the NEC was a step too far..
The pc set up I assume was very high and with nothing running at all in the background to make FSX work! Typical

2601 vistors that would not pay for the cost of the room!! Which VA were working on..

I've got 56 processes going on at the mo.. and am still pulling a good 30-40 (sometimes.. often more!) fps in FSX

I was going to attend the show this year.. but didn't. Was going to attend it next year.. but.. doesn't sound like a hot event!

Yah and John Holmes took lessons from me and I turned down the role of James Bond because it would have interfered wirth Emerdale..
