Very nice indeed Eddie! I see that our CB came up trumps with the computer.

Well done that man!

I've got the Alpha Victor, it comes with a panel and VC, but not a lot happens in VC mode. It has no drogues, and for the life of me I can't get the APU ducts to shut (assign the Concorde visor to it they say  ).

Here's a few shots to 'compere and contrast  '

I have to say, as with all the V bombers, My favourites are the B1's and as B1 Victors go, i Prefer this one....

hpvictormk1fs2k4.zip at avsim

Chris (the author) was in the process of making this when real life caught up with him, and he couldn't finish it. Best visual B1... just add the alpha panel / Conway sounds at classic British files, and its prety dam good.!

Just one little thing, the Victor B1 was Sapphire turbo jet powered. Conways being bypass turbofans sound nothing like the real thing.

The Victor B1 was loud and raw.

It was often said in the fifties that the Victor was so pleasing to the eye but cruel to the ear.

When aircraft like the VC10 and One-Eleven were introduced they were considered not to be unduly noisy as there were many earlier turbo jet around that were far worse. The Victor B1 was thought of as unbearable at times........but few complained.

I don't know if there are Sapphires but Olympus being a turbojet are closer but still not quite the same.

But it was not so much the noise but the pitch that was so spectacular and the hammering on the chest as the sound waves hit..........similar to the Vulcan, which was Olympus in it's B2 form.

Well spotted Garry. I totally forgotten about the Sapphires!

Think I'll give her a try with the Olympus ones then... or are there any others that would be suitable? Avon maybe?
