You'll find that the freeware model suffers the same dihedral effect too with some 'magic' force dragging it back to centre. It's totally controllable though and quite delightful to fly. I keep very few aircraft of this type on my system but the freebie is a definate keeper I think the only challenging landing for it would be a lighthouse helicopter platform and that would be due to the lack of wheel brakes!!

Yes it is a common fault in FS...In fact the best example of proper spiral instability that I've come across is the "Trike" in FSX...So realistic that it is the only machine I would choose for free flight in FSX.

Thanks Allan...I've downloaded it for comparison of flight dynamics. I did do a few Tiger Moth hours just a few years ago at Ardmore in New Zealand...just lovely. Also did 10 hours in a Tiger for "Recency" purposes from Denham in 1964 and that previously mentioned flying training from Panshangar in 1949 when I was sixteen years old...served me in good stead for when I joined the R.A.F. in 1951.

The answer is out there Peter.. it's just a matter of finding it I usually throw this sort of conundrum at Brian Withers but I'm sure there are many here who could 'do the necessary'. I have a beta of PaulE's York which sufferred (in my humble opinion) a similar problem which he has since rectified. Perhaps he or Rick (if they're looking in) could advise the correct lines to adjust It's a shame as otherwise, the freeware Tiggie is great value for the price

I'm sure there are too, but there must be a question as to whether anyone should need to "do the necessary" on a payware model especially given the price of this one. When you get a publicity blurb that says.. "Highly accurate flight modelling replicates correct airframe performance, stall moments and flying behaviour." You don't really expect to have to add ... "provided you think this includes keeping aileron and rudder on all the way around the turn" or "so long as you can find someone to tweak it a bit more than we have."
I must say that I am a bit cross with this model, especially when I compare it with the quality of the freeware stuff here. I've raised about half a dozen niggles (mostly trivial but together irritating) on the Just Flight Forum. We'll just have to see how Aeroplane Heaven, the developers, respond.
I've been testing Rick's latest Chipmunk all day and after all that exquisite experience, I just can't bring myself to go back to that Tiger Moth...I'm afraid I wasted my money :think:
John.. I agree entirely. We work on the premise here that if our names are on something, it is of as good a quality as it can be (given that it is freeware and we also have lives outside the FS community). Peter's comments above show that our developers efforts are not in vain
