Andover and 748 ferry flights anyone?

Post by RAF_Quantum »

Hi Guys,

We have just acquired two HS780 Andovers and four HS748's which are currently in Canada.

HS780's
XS644 CYRT = booked Ben
XS645 CYOW = Booked Ben

HS748's
G-BMFT CYRT = booked DM
G-BPDA CYOW
G-BOHZ CYFB = booked CT
G-EDIN CYHY

If anyone would like to ferry one back to the UK then please post below which aircraft you will collect. Let me know the routing and sector flight times that you wish to take and I will lodge the Flightplans at FlyNET

Rgds

I guess I'll get G-BOHZ from Iqaluit. Odd place for a 748 to end up though since the real ones are a bit further west than that....

Edit: ...can't spell that name right for the life of me... Got in trouble with Canadian Customs for getting it wrong too and had to write it 50 times right and fax it to them...

Hi Guys,

Didn't expect responses quite as quick  . Any of the existing 748 bases will be fine for the 748's.

Ben, Brize will be fine for the Andover until we decide on permanent bases. I didn't realise the Andover had that range, did you want to break it down to more sectors or is two OK for you?

I've done some calcs and it should be ok. I did a test flight last night, and although theres not much left in the tanks, there's enough, so I'd like to give it a go.I'll feed back how it goes before I bring the 748 back.

Hi Ben/Chris,

I've filed the flightplans per below. I've done your two sector hop Ben, as well as a 'pretty' route. You can decide which way to go. The other routes for the 748's have been filed with shorter hops. Check weather and navaids at destination fields as they don't all have ILS. Chris, they can go to EGNV for now.

Ok count me in for G-BMFT.
Been meaning to get the 748 going again.
Never done more than 260nm in it before though, could be I'll chicken out after the first leg! If I get there.
