Dave, one thing I have noticed on the 510ED is that when deploying spoilers it is not shown in the cockpit during flight but only when on the ground, did this warning only show in the dolls eyes when the mainwheels were on terra firma?
Secondly, think it must be due to lack of oxygen around the brain after flying at altitude but when approaching decision height I am sure that the co-pilot informed of that but now......he seems to have lost his voice!!!
Thirdly, the 510ED cockpit is brilliant, I can see why pilots had to undergo clearance before flying it due to all switches working back to front from the previous versions.....Caught me out a number of times I can tell you!!
Regards Nigel.
1-11 -500ED's... Another awesome update! Thanks DM!

Hi Nigel
I'm not 100% sure about the spoilers indication because I don't have a 510 manual.
The Trident has the same type of eye indicators, but the Trident has four - two marked 'Airbrakes' & two marked 'Lift Dumpers'.
For some reason, the 1-11 510 only has two marked 'Lift Dumpers', so it's just for the inboard sections that do only work on the ground.
Yep, lack of oxygen for the second one. The co-pilot only ever shouts at you during takeoff on the 1-11.
It's only on the Trident you get the landing calls too - 'Radio 500', 'Autoland 12 ft' & 'Decide'.
I like the 510 cockpit much more than expected. Thought I'd be back with the regular one by now, but the old one hasn't had a look in recently.
Paul, I know what you mean. I used to see so much of the 1-11s at Manchester that they were just a boring annoyance. Now I'd be happy to go hundreds of miles to see one fly.
And thanks Jetty.

Thanks Dave, began to think it was the old grey cells that were starting to play up somewhat regarding call-outs on the 1-11.
Incidentally, now here's a challenge, on the Trident you incorporated the slats with the flap lever due to some sort of issue. Is it possible with a man of your calibre, ability and programming skills...................
(here we go, the old soften them up with a string of compliments routine..........then a refusal becomes much harder)!!!!
to incorporate the slats with the tail hook key instead of a combined action? :prayer:
Late edit: Have to agree with your remark concerning the new layout on the 500, the earlier versions have sadly been left gathering dust in the hanger for a while now whilst I have been enjoying the challenge of this great cockpit layout....(another compliment to compliment the above compliment...........if you know what I mean)!!!
Regards Nigel

I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.
I don't think you can have true independant flaps & slats Nigel.
There may be a cunning way of doing it, but I can't think of one.
You'd be able to do the animation ok, but it's the aerodynamics that are the problem. There's no separate control for slats in the FS flight model, it's all on the flaps lever.

Not sure about British aircraft but it was possible on the 727 - certain TWA Captain by the name of "Hoot" Gibson did it - at FL350 - with the most impressive results when the F/E inadvertently reversed the situation :shock:don't think you can have true independant flaps & slats Nigel.

That is how I understanding it
FS allow flap function and that was it...no seperate fuctions so it did it that way and made a point of saying this which looks very much like he really wanted and tried to make it seperate but couldn't.
